RHB Sound Dezign is committed to providing sound design improvements one amplifier at a time. Modifications are the means to breathe Dynamic Linearity into a system, to bring music to life.

Just as each individual set of ears is unique to its owner, each set of modifications is unique to that individual amplifier, to that individual owner.

Each listener has his own goals, his own system. Each RHB modification is designed and hand built to make those dreams come alive in that system.

RHB doesn’t offer mod packages or swap out parts and call that an upgrade. Here, modifications begin with a consultation, a time to find out what the listener wants, what the system may lack.

RHB Sound Dezign then performs a holistic evaluation of the amplifier, examining the signal path from input jack to output terminal.

Then Bob Backert designs an upgrade plan specifically for that amplifier, to meet its owner’s goals. Gary Backert builds each circuit board and each modification by hand using the best components for that job.

Each unit is tested extensively. And RHB performs the ultimate test – actually listening to the unit.

Modifications can be as simple as rewiring the signal path with high-quality wire of design. Or they can be extensive – custom-built power supplies, hand-wired circuit modifications, upgraded wiring packages, specialty combinations of capacitors and other premium parts. And they can be done in stages, doing as much or as little as a listener desires at a time. Each amplifier – each listener – receives ’s experience, talent and commitment to bring it closer to the dream of Dynamic Linearity.
